Parties

Last week was full of birthday parties. You never get too old to enjoy a birthday party. On Tuesday, Cynthia had a big open invite for everyone to join her at Panarottis. The photo here is an amalgamation of a few random pics (thanks to Sulette for some of them).

Sam had a girls' night at her place on Friday to mark hers. As you can imagine with a bunch of women, it was a night of lots of laughing and general silliness (of the good kind). With just a few of us left at the end of the night, Sam (that game maniac!) pulled out 30 Seconds. I teamed up with Sam and Cynth... since we all three have a sound knowledge of 80's pop bands, it was a cinch. You need that info to win at 30 Seconds.

On Saturday, it was Pierre's turn... he's 50 this year. The highlight had to be the red classic car cake which Clive made. Now, Clive is a big builder guy and the last man you'd expect to have secret culinary talents- but he does!

Other than that, it was a normal week. The kids seem to be enjoying their new school and are making some new friends. Mulberry Bush had an auction to raise funds, and this little school, of no more than 30 kids, managed to raise R85 000! Naas Botha still seems to have his old charm... he was the main speaker and did it as a favour for the head teacher who is an old friend.

Boys! The other day we were in Mr P Home when Daniel called me over, "Come look here, Mom. It's something you'll like." So I came over, and Daniel whipped out a very realistic looking play snake. Aaah! Grilllll.
